Freet Connect 4 Buyer Review: Fit, Best Use and Tradeoffs

Connect 4 uses a waterproof lining
Freet specifies a waterproof, breathable bootee lining in Connect 4 and a HillGrip outsole. This is a real construction distinction from its quick-drying Feldom 2. It makes Connect a candidate when wet vegetation or rain is a recurring part of your route.
A lining cannot stop water entering over the collar. Consider how deep the water is likely to be and whether you can avoid prolonged immersion. Waterproof footwear and a freely draining shoe answer different outdoor problems.
Inspect the fit with the liner in mind
With your hiking or running socks on, check toe height as well as length. The complete lined upper is what your foot must fit inside; an external width impression does not establish usable internal space.
Walk uphill and down a modest incline before committing to a long outing. Heel movement and forward sliding may call for a different shape, not tighter laces everywhere. If you remove the supplied insole, reassess depth and underfoot feel together. The benefit of a weather barrier is reduced if achieving room for your foot makes the shoe unable to hold it comfortably.
