Running and water management are different priorities
V-Run makes sense to investigate when the main job is running on ordinary routes. Spidrwalk addresses a different question: how a toe shoe handles wet, changing outdoor conditions. Vibram describes the latter around water management and traction. That distinction is more useful than assuming that either FiveFingers model can substitute for every other one. A wet shoreline also introduces sand, small stones and uneven footholds that a dry pavement fitting cannot reproduce.
Check the toes before choosing the terrain
Try each toe pocket with the toes resting naturally. A long second toe can reach its pocket limit while the big-toe pocket still appears roomy; increasing the size may then loosen the heel. If toe socks are part of the plan, include them in that assessment. Neither model should require curled toes or forceful stretching of the upper to become wearable. Choose the activity match only after establishing that the individual toe layout works for both feet.
