Do Barefoot Shoes Need Special Socks?

Choose socks around the interior shape

Toe socks are a preference for many conventional toe-box designs. Shoes with separate toe pockets are a different case: a normal closed sock does not fit each individual pocket, so follow that modelâs instructions.
Thickness changes the useful space
A winter sock may fill upper volume that was available during a thin-sock try-on. Check the fastening and toe contact again when the season changes, especially in shoes that already fit closely over the instep.
Consider washing and drying logistics if the pair will be used daily. Carrying a clean spare can be more useful than seeking a supposedly mandatory specialist sock. If the shoe rubs in one place across several sock choices, investigate the shoeâs seam, shape or heel movement rather than expecting a sock to correct a persistent mismatch.
