How to Size Barefoot Shoes
Use the brandâs current internal-length guidance, measure both feet and add functional room appropriate to the activity. Do not convert solely from another brandâs number.Read the answer, then inspect the current options.

Make a measurement you can reuse
Measure from heel to the longest toe on each foot while standing. Record the actual length and the units rather than only a familiar shoe number. The longer toe may not be the big toe, and the two feet need not match.
Repeat an uncertain measurement before placing an order. Include the socks planned for the shoe, especially if you are comparing a warm boot with a light summer model. Keep the measurements available when asking a retailer for sizing help.
Read what the chart is measuring
A chart may list foot length, recommended foot length or internal shoe length. Those are not interchangeable. Do not add an allowance twice if the brand has already incorporated room into its recommendation.
Check the exact model
Check the exact model page for sizing advice rather than converting blindly from another brand. Xero publishes model-specific recommendations, illustrating why a brand-wide rule may miss an exception. Once length is selected, recheck width, instep volume and heel hold. A nominally correct size that is the wrong shape remains a poor fit, and the next size up may simply move the problem.
